Well, well, well - look who's made an upgrade! Ground vehicle mining is pretty similar to FPS mining, just with slightly different controls and UI. That said, you'll need:
A Greycat ROC (single seat), ROC DS (need a friend), or an Argo GEO (jump jets go wheee!)
A ship that can hold your vehicle of choice
A full set of armor for environmental protection (no climate control in the ROCs/GEO)
A backpack for storing your mineables AND/OR extra mining bags/boxes on your ship
Food and water - you'll definitely be out here a while
Tractor beam (for handling mining bags/boxes)
Hop in your ground miner of choice and get close to the rock. Once you're in range and looking at it, your vehicle should automatically scan it and display the mass, resistance, instability, difficulty, and composition of the rock on the right. (The DOLIVINE you see on the left is just what's currently in the ROC's storage)
Ground vehicles have two separate modes, and you can only use one at a time - use [left alt]+[left click] to toggle between them:
FRACTURE MODE to break the rocks
EXTRACTION MODE to collect the fractured pieces
First things first - adjust your physical distance to the rock so the gauge on the left (your laser's fracturing range) is in the "OPTIMAL" zone.
[Left click] to turn on your mining laser and start fracturing. Just like in FPS mining, you'll need to adjust your laser's intensity shown on the bottom right by using the [scroll wheel] (no left alt) to increase/decrease the intensity. The outer ring to the right of the green and red zones is your current charge level (fracture gauge). Bring that bar up into the green zone by raising your power, but be prepared to lower your power quickly to avoid overcharging!
After you have finished fracturing, switch to EXTRACTION MODE and [left click] to engage the beam. Move the beam over the fractured chunks of rock to collect them automatically into your vehicle's storage.
