Inventory System
The inventory system is divided into two main panels. By default, when you open the inventory with [I], you will see:
Personal inventory on the left (blue arrow/square)
Local inventory on the right (orange arrow/square)
Equipped weapons and utility items on the left (purple arrow/square)
To equip items to your character, you can either:
Click and drag them into one of the equipment slots on the left
Click and drag them into one of the bubbles in the middle
[Double click] - this is easiest and most reliable
To unequip items, click and drag them from your equipment slots or central bubbles and place them into an inventory with enough space to receive the item.
To move items from the left pane to the right or vice versa, simply [shift] + [left click]
You can also [right click] on an item to take certain actions like
Carry
Inspect
Drop Item
Split (if it's a stack of more than one item)
Right Click Menu
4.7 introduced the ability to loot nearby inventories without having to look at the loot crate or corpse, you can simply press [I] and see nearby loot.
You can select which inventory you are looting from the extra icons that will appear on the top right (orange arrow) if there are multiple bodies/boxes that you need to search through.
Inventories accessible through dedicated terminals, such as the item bank and freight elevator, are handled separately and are not part of the nearby inventory tab system.
Two players cannot have the same inventory open at the same time. If another player is already using an inventory, its tab will appear greyed out and unavailable until they leave.
Looting Nearby Corpses
A search bar lets you find items by name within the currently displayed inventory. Simply type into the search bar then press [enter] to search.
You can also sort items by SCU size or item name, and apply category filters to show or hide particular types of items. Click on a filter category (red box) to add/remove the entire category from your current view, or hover over a section to add/remove an individual sub-category
There is a "Clear" button to reset your search and your filters.
